Demand for data talent is at its highest level in 3 years

Make sure your Resume stands out!

Demand for data talent is at its highest level in 3 years, which means a whole new group of companies are actively recruiting!

It’s time to start applying but make sure your resume stands out!

Here’s a checklist for your Resume ✅✅

1/ You have at least 3 solid portfolio projects

Portfolio projects are a key factor in landing a job as a beginner.

Make sure you choose projects that aren’t generic but are unique, as those will stand out.

Choose your best 3 projects!

2/ Categorize your skills

Divide your skills section into sub-sections.

Include Python libraries in technical skills as it can be useful (Pandas, NumPy, ScikitLearn, etc.)

Don’t only add machine learning, focus on sub-categories such as regression and clustering.

3/ Link your GitHub in the resume

In a recent conversation with a recruiter, this mistake is made by 80% of candidates

Aspiring Data Scientists are not adding their Github link in their Resume

The recruiter also said they don't even read further if there is no proof to back up the projects!

4/ The 80/20 content split

80% of your resume should be about your competence, which includes experience, jobs, and skills.

The other 20% should be allotted to your personal life, which includes your hobbies and interests.

5/ Bold any key points

Bolding key points in your resume will make it as skimmable as possible, which will have a better impression on the recruiter
